In our world today, it has been poisoned with the perception that some people tend to be higher than others, even though all humans are equal. It has become an everyday reality, and some people face unfair or prejudicial treatment. This treatment tends towards race, gender, age, or sexual orientation. It hurts our environment, and it stems from fear and misunderstanding. It drives hatred, division and dehumanizes people of a group.
Discrimination has remained a fundamental problem in the world that is driving social exclusion. It threatens people’s safety and opportunities, well-being, and sense of agency as the exposure becomes persistent. We did not come to this world to be labelled by our colour or as a group. We are not the colour of our skin. When we discriminate, we hurt people around us. This inequality creates social biases, harassment, and many times denial of access to one’s rights. A racial feeling cordially affects the usual actions of everyday life. It constitutes restrictions of freedom and mobility. It showcases an epidemic level of violence in the environment the victims find themselves in.
Discrimination has enslaved a lot of people physically, mentally, and psychologically. Stereotyping has given objectivity to the victim’s personality or dignity. They no longer feel comfortable because the exposition to aggressive negative instincts on them is too risky.
We must understand that everyone has a sense of self-worth and can impact something valuable when you get closer to them. We do not have to instigate a negative reflection on any group because it can affect you and your abilities. We have to embrace one another, love, and cherish that we all created for a purpose. We must remove every negative thinking and build up positive and encouraging thoughts about people.
Whatever triggers negativity should be pinpointed and stopped. We cannot change situations, but we can change the way we react and understand them. There is a need to pay attention to our anxiety towards sadness. We have to promote a mindset of dialogue no matter how irrational and worse a situation may be. Life is about love, happiness, and peace. Encouraging ourselves to learn about people’s culture will go a long way. We have to have a heart of forgiveness and appreciate each other’s success.
Let us pursue equality and diversity with that represents our true power and diversity. Love is the only foundation that can seal the bond of our unity. We must limit the marginalization of any group and respect their freedom. Kindly pay attention to the voices of people who experience discrimination, and don’t deprive them of their privilege. Learn to understand and offer them the help they need to stand bold. Show them the support to overcome every psychological trauma or struggle they are experiencing.
We have to give our best to stand up against discrimination. It will foster forming an ally with people of different cultural and linguistically diverse people. Make them feel valued and without intimidation. Ensure they are safe with you so that they can speak up about any conflict they are experiencing. Always be willing to have frequent open conversations with them and be an advocate of their voices. Give them enough care, and add to making a difference to their happiness and well-being. Show love to people around you because it is transformative with healing energies. Love reaches across boundaries.
